A Google review NFC standee is the simplest review tool you can buy: customers tap their phone on it or scan its QR code, and your Google review form opens. But where you put it matters more than the standee itself.
The rule: put it where people already pause
Customers review when they have a spare minute and their phone is already in their hand. That happens at a few predictable moments, so place the standee there.
Restaurants and cafés
- On the table, next to the bill folder or the sauce tray. People wait for the bill with nothing to do.
- At the cash counter, at eye level next to the card machine.
- Not in the middle of the table where it blocks the food or gets knocked over.
Salons and spas
- On the mirror station or the front desk. Clients sit still for half an hour, often looking at their phone.
- At checkout, where they wait to pay.
Clinics and dental practices
- On the reception desk and in the waiting area. Patients are waiting anyway, and a calm waiting room is a good time to write a review.
- Keep the message polite and low pressure, for example “Tell us how we did”.
Shops and showrooms
- Beside the billing counter, facing the customer, not the cashier.
- Near the exit for stores where customers browse for a while.
Add a short line of text
A standee with no explanation is easy to ignore. Add a printed line such as “Enjoyed your visit? Tap here and leave us a review.” Our standees already show Tap and Scan icons, so customers see what to do.
Train your team to say one sentence
Staff should point at the standee and say it once: “If you liked the service, please tap here and leave us a quick review.” Ask every customer, not only the ones you think are happy. Google does not allow offering rewards for reviews or picking only the happy ones.
Check it works every month
Tap it with your own phone once a month, and confirm it opens your review form and not an old link. If you change your business name or location, contact us and we will help you fix the link.
Standee, plate or coin?
If your counter is crowded, a flat review plate or a small review coin can work better. Our guide to choosing between a card, standee and coin compares them.
