Reddit and Discord NFC Cards for Communities and Gaming Cafés

Reddit and Discord are where communities live. A gaming café, an esports team, a coding bootcamp or a hobby club can all gain members by handing out cards that open the community with one tap.

Discord NFC card

The Discord NFC card opens your server invite. Someone taps the card, Discord opens, and they can join.

Best for:

  • gaming cafés and LAN events,
  • esports teams and tournaments,
  • study and coding groups,
  • creators running a fan server.

The invite-link mistake to avoid: many invite links expire after a day or a week. If you give us an expiring link, the card stops working. In Discord’s server settings, create an invite set to Never expire, and send us that link. Also think about a limit on uses; set it to unlimited so the card keeps working.

Reddit NFC card

The Reddit NFC card opens a subreddit or a profile.

Best for:

  • communities that already have an active subreddit,
  • tech and hobby groups,
  • brands that host their own community.

Link format: reddit.com/r/yourcommunity.

Know each community’s rules

Reddit communities have their own rules about self-promotion. A card that sends people to your own subreddit is fine, but be careful about posting promotional content in other communities. Read the rules of any subreddit before you post.

Where to hand out cards

  • At events and tournaments, right after a match or session.
  • At the counter of a gaming café.
  • At the end of a workshop or class.
  • In welcome packs for new members.

Make the first visit welcoming

People who join a community and see silence leave. Before you print cards:

  • write a short welcome message and rules,
  • set up a few channels or topics,
  • post regularly and reply to newcomers,
  • add a pinned post that says what the community is for.

Add a reason to join

“Join our Discord” is generic. “Join for match schedules, coaching and giveaways” tells people what they get. Print it next to the card.
